About the photograph

In Scotland you can expect to see many picturesque scenes but you probably wouldn’t expect to see pyramids!

There are eleven stone cairns built by the British Royal Family on the Balmoral Estate. This is the largest of the Balmoral cairns, which was erected by Queen Victoria in memory of her late husband Prince Albert.
