About the photograph

It’s not hard to see why this beautiful pink castle is said to be the inspiration for Walt Disney’s Cinderella Castle – Craigievar Castle is nestled amongst the rolling hills of Aberdeenshire, in north-east Scotland. The property was a family home for over 350 years, until it was given to the National Trust for Scotland in the 1960s.

Due to it’s unique fairy-tale appearance, Craigievar Castle can be a bit of a tourist hot-spot. Therefore I arrived early to capture this magical place whilst no one was around.
